“Padang did boast an office of the Royal Dutch Mail Steamship Company – which was the destination of this cover. It was dropped off at Belawan on the opposite (east) coast of Sumatra from a Dutch ship in 1937; the Straits Settlements franking was embellished with the very distinctive cursive-style paquebot type 3040.” by R.Hosking (Source: TPO-Jornal, Spring 2007)
