1943 (Nov. 15) American Civilian Internee‘s Stampless Cover, stampless from Japanese ship „Teia Maru“ to Shanghai, China bearing bilingual „paquetbot“  with „Yokohama Nippon“ cds alongside, Japanese Censor‘s tape on reverse tied by circular cachet, „Shanghai“ backstamp, scarce wartime usage of the paquetbot marking.

The square stamp means “POW Mail” (remark by H. Komura from Japan, April 2023)

On 12 April 1942, the „ARAMIS“ was seized by the Japanese government in Saigon under Angara law and renamed „TEIA MARU“. In the period that followed, the ship was mainly used as a troop and prisoner transporter and for the exchange of prisoners of war, for example for US and Canadian nationals in September and October 1943. However, it also served as a hospital ship and continued to carry civilian passengers in some cases. She sunk by USS submarine „RASHER“ in August 1944.
