A new Paquebot mark was now discovered on a philatelic cover sent from M/S”OTELLO” to Sweden. The cancel dimension is 50 x 9 mm frame and 41 x 6,5 mm script. The port of Mog Po is situated at the southwest coast of South Korea. Correct spelled today as Mokpo.
Look in the gallery for “Mog Po unlisted (A)” please.

Auf einem philatelistisch geprägten Brief vom M/S”OTELLO” nach Schweden wurde jetzt ein neuer Paquebotstempel entdeckt. Der Stempel wurde in Mog Po, einem Hafen im Südwesten Südkoreas, am 28.VII.83 abgeschlagen und hat die Schriftmaße 41 x 6,5 mm. Der Rahmen mißt 50 x 9 mm. Heutzutage wird der Hafen Mokpo genannt. Zu finden ist der Beleg in der Galerie unter dem Suchbegriff “Mog Po unlisted (A)”.

An unknown mark of Belem (Brazil) is now shown in the gallery. The frame dimensions are 50 x 10 mm, the script size is 41 x 5 mm. A special property is the kinked Q-tail. Two covers are exhibited in the gallery for the moment.

Ein bisher noch nicht katalogisierter Stempel von Belem(Brasilien) hat die Rahmenmaße 50 x 10 mm. Die Schrift ist 41 mm lang und 5 mm hoch. Als besonderes Merkmal kann man den geknickten Q-Strich hervorheben. Zwei Belege sind zur Zeit in der Galerie ausgestellt.

Hello Mr. Spanjersberg!

Many thanks for your interesting remark concerning the Seo Dae Sin 3136 (A) mark and the former and modern spelling of PUSAN/BUSAN.
The spelling and numbering of the covers exhibited in the gallery of the website Paquebot.info is guided by the actual catalogue “Paquebot Cancellation of the World and more …” by Mike Dovey and Keith Morris.
I will gladly forward your information to Mike Dovey who improves the next edition permanently to keep the catalogue up to date.

Their is one cover listed under “Seo Dae Sin 3136 (A)”. Seodaesin (Korean: 서대신) is a neighbourhood within Busan, close to the harbour. That’s why underneath the name of the area the letters “BS” can be found. I guess this cover should be listed under Busan.

Also, Busan and Pusan are identical, but Busan is the official (modern) spelling. Perhaps these two should be listed as one?

An unknown Paquebot mark from Xiamen/China is now exhibited in the gallery. Look for “Xiamen unlisted” please. The dimensions are 5 x 24 mm script and 14 x 37 mm frame. The mark has been placed on a philatelic cover dated 25.5.1987.

Ein bisher unbekannter Paquebotstempel von Xiamen/China ist unter dem Titel “Xiamen unlisted (A)” neu in der Gallerie ausgestellt. Der Sammlerbeleg ist vom 25.5.1987 und der Stempel hat die Abmessungen 5 x 24 mm bei der Schrift und 14 x 37 mm im Rahmen.

Dear Capt. Schulz,

I have been researching the paquebot marks of Fiji and found your
website most useful. I have a number of covers which you may find of
interest. I will send scans over the next few days.

To start the ball rolling I attach a scan of the earliest cover I have
seen so far with the Suva type 1 paquebot handstamp (Proud type SL3)
which was introduced in 1930. For information I have two ship letters
from 1928 which predate the introduction of paquebot handstamps in Fiji.

You may also like to know that the Nausori mark you show as unlisted can
be found in Proud’s “The Postal History of Fiji” on page 386 as type
SL2. It is my opinion that this mark has been misidentified having been
applied on board ship and not by the Fiji post office. It should
therefore be removed from the catalogue.

Has somebody seen this remarkable oval Paquebot mark of Tonga anywhere? The cover looks obvious very philatelic. Therefore the question for the origin or a second piece. The cover is shown at the gallery as “Nuku’alofa unknown”.

Der hier abgebildete ovale Paquebotstempel von Tonga ist bisher unbekannt. Da der Brief sehr “philatelistisch” aussieht ergibt sich die Frage nach weiteren Belegen. Wer kann helfen? Der Brief ist in der Galerie unter “Nuku’alofa unknown” zu finden.

Ernst Schilling reported a new mark of Nuuk (Greenland) shown below with the dimensions of 52 x 8 mm.
Ernst added the information that the same mark was in use at Tasiilaq in November 2017 (look for “Tasiilaq unlisted”).

Ernst Schilling meldet einen neuen, 52 x 8 mm großen Paquebotstempel von Nuuk (Grönland) auf einer Bedarfs-AK.
Der gleiche Stempel war im November 2017 auch in Tasiilaq in Benutzung (siehe “Tasiilaq unlisted”).
